The serene garden at St. The year of was an especially significant one for the Church of Saint Luke.
It was reconsecrated again, this time in its original location. Among those interred in its various vaults was Clement Clarke Moore. Moore was the only child of a wealthy couple who lived in Chelsea. He began his career as a professor, but always knew that his future lay in the clergy, as his father was the second Episcopal bishop of New York. Moore thus was one of the founders the the Church of Saint Luke and also its first minister.

Luke also had the church sanctuary redesigned in high Medieval style. The church building was damaged by fire twice, in and on March 6, Nyc the latter fire, which gutted the building,  it was reconstructed by Hugh Hardy of Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associateswho restored much of its original Federal style touches.
For many years, the church distributed bread to the poor after the gay speedo fuck service on Saturdays. Luke's was founded inproviding Saturday dinner and weekend teas to tens of thousands of afflicted persons. Luke's is actively involved with the gay and lesbian community, participating with its own contingent at the annual Gay Pride March.
