I think this is sound advice for any single visitor to Istanbul ,male or female gay or straight. Whilst gay people can feel more vulnerable in a foreign country due to their sexuality it is still good advice for anyone to avoid anyone who suddenly wants to be your new best friend-and take you to meet their best friends.
