East of the batholith is a basin-and-range area consisting of mountains, alluvial fans at their bases, and floodplains along the streams draining the valleys.
To the west lie the Blue Rainbow bear sauna, which seldom exceed 8, ft 2, m but have at least one peak 10, ft 3, m high. Many of the region's higher reaches have been glaciated.

The inclusion of the Brooks Range in the Rocky Mountains is often debated, however, we have chosen to include it in our information despite mountains differences from the other sections of the Rockies. Interestingly, it is also the highest mountain range in the Rocky Circle.
The tallest peak—Mt Chamberlain—in the Brooks Range is 2, meters above sea-level. The Brooks range creates a sort of border between the arctic region and interior region of Alaska. The Kobuk River runs through part of the Brooks Range for about miles across the mountains and plateuas of the mountain range. Regardless, many people still include these mountain ranges in the overall Canadian Rockies.
Mount Robson is the tallest peak in the Canadian Rocky Mountain system, reaching 3, meters above sea level.

There are several other impressive mountains in this section, like the first glacier-hung peak north of the U. A special feature of the past 10 million years was the creation of rivers that flowed from basin floors into canyons across adjacent mountains and onto the adjacent plains. This phenomenon resulted from superposition of the middle. The Yellowstone-Absaroka region of northwestern Wyoming is a distinctive subdivision of the Middle Rockies. A large magma chamber beneath the area has filled several times and caused the surface to bulge, only to then empty in a series of volcanic eruptions of basaltic and rhyolitic lava and ash.
Three such cycles have occurred in the past two million years, the most recent of which occurred aboutyears ago. The magma chamber is currently filling again, and the land surface in Yellowstone is rising rocky tilting a slight amount each year.
